We’re looking for a commercially minded operator with strong financial instincts and experience in real estate or hospitality who’s ready to step into full business leadership. This role is ideal for someone who has mastered finance, understands how value is created on the ground, and is prepared to take ownership of revenue, costs, deals, people and outcomes. As Commercial Accountant, you’ll play a central role in a fast‑growing environment—leading budgeting and forecasting, strengthening controls, and delivering clear insight to senior leaders. You’ll also support investment decisions, acquisitions, commercial negotiations and ongoing improvements across systems, processes and reporting, helping drive sustainable growth across all divisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the day‑to‑day operations of the finance team, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of all outputs.
- Manage month‑end and year‑end close processes, producing reliable management accounts.
- Oversee budgeting and forecasting, including variance analysis and performance monitoring.
- Produce clear, commercially focused P&L, balance sheet and cashflow reporting.
- Strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with governance standards.
- Manage balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and working capital.
- Support and enhance cashflow forecasting, including rolling 13‑week forecasts.
- Work closely with operational and sales teams to analyse revenue, costs and margin opportunities.
- Handle property‑related accounting such as leases, business rates and landlord analysis.
- Contribute to financial modelling for business cases, investments and acquisitions.
- Drive improvements in systems, automation and reporting (NetSuite experience beneficial).
- Prepare audit materials and liaise with external advisors when required.
What we’re looking for:
- ACCA/ACA qualified or close to qualification.
- Strong grounding in technical accounting and financial control.
- Commercial experience gained in a fast‑moving SME or multi‑site setting.
- Confident leading, supporting and developing a small finance team.
- Advanced Excel user with solid financial modelling skills.
- Keen to streamline processes and explore automation and AI‑enabled tools.
- Experienced in producing clear, accurate management accounts and board‑level reports.
- Skilled in cashflow forecasting and managing working capital.
- Comfortable with budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis.
- Familiar with NetSuite or similar ERP systems (advantageous).
- A strong communicator who can influence and support stakeholders across the business
Package on offer:
Option 1 – Three Month Contract: Day rate; suitable for seasoned contractors
seeking a fixed-term engagement.
Option 2 – Temp-to-Perm: Strong potential for a permanent position with career
growth and significant earning potential.
